Since deciding to homeschool my kids in 2016, finding the ideal balance between family, personal interests, work, and homeschooling was nearly impossible. I was stressed and stretched! Committing myself to my kids’ education first, I had no choice but to drop part-time and PRN physical therapist roles in outpatient and skilled nursing facilities.

However, since accepting the position as a Luna Physical Therapist in 2021, I’ve discovered an agreeable blend of flexibility, professional fulfillment, and personal growth.
Partnering With Luna Physical Therapy
Luna Physical Therapy offers a unique opportunity for people like me who crave autonomy in their professional lives. With flexible hours, I can tailor my schedule to fit ideally into my life as a homeschool mom. Instead of juggling schedules and requesting time blocks, I can jump into the Luna App and conveniently open or close my schedule weeks or months in advance.
Both my family and patients receive the attention they deserve!
The most significant advantage of working with Luna Physical Therapy is using their innovative online platform for evaluations and note-taking. This streamlined system not only enhances the efficiency of my practice but also allows me to maintain detailed records without the hassle of traditional paperwork.
With just a few clicks, I can access patient information, track progress, and communicate seamlessly with their fast-responding concierge team, providing a comprehensive approach to care.
Work Flexibility And Freedom
What truly sets Luna apart is the freedom it affords me as a small, private practice solo provider. Luna allows me to focus solely on patient care. I can dedicate myself to providing high-quality treatment and support to my patients without worrying about administrative tasks and financial concerns. Understanding that Luna’s team was handling insurance verifications was all I needed to know before jumping aboard.
My specialties are in sports medicine and pelvic health. These passions drive me to make meaningful differences in others’ lives. My flexible schedule allows me to attend continuing education courses and conferences and incorporate additional wellness revenue streams that align with my skills.
Working with orthopedic and sports medicine populations at home offers challenges and opportunities. Recognizing that only some have access to a full gym, I collaborate with my patients to devise creative solutions for strengthening muscles and improving balance and coordination using only what they have at home. This partnership encourages patients to own their rehabilitation journey as we adapt exercises to their environment and abilities.
Making An Impact In My Community
I can also share my pelvic health knowledge directly with patients. I hold one such case close to my heart.
In the safety of their home, a patient struggled after their pelvic surgery, leaving them to battle with urinary incontinence. They kept isolated but yearned to reconnect with the world again. With patience and expertise, I visited and helped guide them through therapeutic exercises, imparting knowledge on self-care, breathing mechanics, and functional movement.
Through weeks of dedication, the patient’s progress was remarkable. Reclaiming lost strength and building courage to step outside, they began walking around the neighborhood. The patient was set on attending a ball game in person. Within six weeks, they were comfortable with their progress and preparation and achieved their goal.
This story inspires me deeply, reminding me of the profound impact physical therapy can have on individuals who would otherwise be confined to isolation or struggling with chronic pain. I am motivated by the opportunity to break away from the traditional model of physical therapy, which often prioritizes quantity over quality, and instead focus on providing personalized, transformative care to each individual I encounter.
Time For Personal Growth
Working with Luna, I can enjoy a lifestyle that allows me to grow personally and professionally. As a homeschool mom, I cherish my moments with my kids. At the same time, I can keep my skills as a physical therapist sharp while planting the seeds of networking in my local area so I can decide to grow exponentially when my kids graduate.
Moreover, Luna’s supportive community fosters a sense of belonging and camaraderie among its practitioners. I’ve enjoyed reading about other therapists’ success stories and connecting with like-minded individuals online. I’m grateful for the network of colleagues who inspire and motivate me to be the best version of myself.
Being a Luna Physical Therapist has easily allowed me to keep working as a physical therapist while homeschooling in ways I never thought possible. With its flexible hours, innovative online platform, and support, Luna allows me to pursue my passions while thriving in my professional endeavors. As I continue this journey, I’m excited to see where it takes me and the lives I’ll touch.
