Goals met again! While it’s rewarding to check off the daily boxes in my 75 Hard Challenge, I’ve been reflecting on how to keep this journey engaging. This weekend, I’m planning to shake things up with exercise programs featuring reps and sets and share some favorite recipes to inspire others (and myself!). But beyond the checkboxes, the lessons from my reading have been profound, and I hope they resonate with you too.
The Power of Training and Education
One of the standout quotes from my recent readings came from Atomic Habits, referencing Laszlo Polgar: “A genius is not born, but educated and trained.” This reminded me that personal growth is a journey, not a gift. Training and education are themes I’ve also encountered in my Bible study, reinforcing the idea that we all have the capacity to grow with the right effort and guidance.
It’s easy to feel unsure when others question your methods or choices. I’ve learned to stand firm in what I believe, especially when rooted in solid knowledge. Every person’s body, mind, and journey are unique—just as our sources of learning and growth vary. While being open to correction and new insights is essential, it’s equally vital to trust the path you’ve chosen when it aligns with your values and goals.
Fitting In vs. Standing Out
Humans have a deep-seated desire to belong. Studies show we’d often rather be wrong with the crowd than right on our own. This truth is especially evident in the food and fitness industry, where fad diets and celebrity fitness routines dominate the conversation. It’s tempting to jump on these bandwagons, especially when they promise quick results and have the allure of social validation.

I’ll admit, I’ve been guilty of following trends just to feel connected or shake off boredom. But I’ve also learned to step away when something feels too “crunchy” or far-fetched. It’s crucial to remember that while trends come and go, you can’t outrun the consequences of your choices. Facing the music is inevitable, so why not make decisions that align with the person you truly want to be?
Creating the Right Environment for Growth
To achieve the happily-ever-after ending we envision for ourselves, we need to make deliberate choices about how we live and who we surround ourselves with. If you want to be someone who wakes up early to hit the gym or embraces a vegetarian lifestyle, it might mean giving up late nights at the bar or reevaluating your social circles.
Yes, it takes perseverance to seek out new environments and build relationships with people who embody the habits you aspire to adopt. But the effort is worth it. Surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals and setting up an environment that supports your goals makes success not only possible but sustainable.
Embracing Change with Confidence
As I continue my journey, I’m reminded that growth requires both intention and adaptability. Whether it’s refining habits, learning from trusted sources, or adjusting my environment, every step is a choice to align with my goals. I encourage you to reflect on your own path: What changes can you make today to better support the person you want to become?
Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences as we navigate this journey together.
