Embracing Life’s Rhythms

As I wrap up 21 days of corporate fasting and Bible study with my church, I’ve been reflecting on the different seasons in our lives and how our habits evolve to fit them. After participating in this fast for past seven years with my church, it’s clear that some habits are meant to be daily practices, while others fit better into weekly, seasonal, or even annual rhythms. This journey has not only deepened my faith but also given me clarity on how to approach the next chapter of my personal growth.

Daily, Weekly, & Seasonal Growth

Life is full of patterns that align with different timeframes. Some things, like brushing your teeth or meditating, are daily essentials, while others, like date nights or grocery shopping, happen weekly. Seasonal practices, such as fasting, vacations, or cross-training, allow us to reset, recharge, and realign.

75 hard challenge day 23

This fast reminded me of the importance of pausing to evaluate where I’ve been, where I am now, and what I want for my next season. It’s a chance to redefine my goals and routines. Next month, I plan to explore prayer and meditation more deeply while adapting my fasting schedule to fuel my growing passion for running. As I move forward, I’ll continue honoring these natural rhythms, recognizing that life is a balance of persistence and renewal.

Evolving Fitness and Nutrition Goals

Over the past three weeks, I’ve experienced incredible changes in my body and mind. I’ve lost 10 pounds, feel stronger, faster, and sharper, and I’ve rarely thought about alcohol. Through mindful eating and a gallon of water daily, I’ve stayed satisfied without obsessing over macros and micros. But as I prepare to level up my running and weightlifting routines, I know I’ll need to fine-tune my nutrition.

My plan is to:

  • Add more protein earlier in the day for sustained energy.
  • Focus on fiber and veggies to support overall health.
  • Adjust my fasting schedule to include carbs in the morning to fuel longer runs.

Fitness is a journey, not a destination, and I’m excited to embrace this next chapter with intention and flexibility.

Celebrating Progress & Planning for the Future

One of the most satisfying parts of this process has been building habits that align with who I want to become. Whether it’s daily journaling, mindful walks, or listening to podcasts, these small actions have added up to big transformations. James Clear, in Atomic Habits, emphasizes that what is rewarded is often repeated, and I’ve found this to be true.

As I transition to February, I plan to:

  • Celebrate my milestones with a reward (because progress deserves recognition!).
  • Shift my focus to business admin for a new venture while continuing to journal daily, but blog weekly starting this Monday!
  • Commit to a formalized fitness program and running schedule and sharing my journey to inspire others.

This period of growth has been immensely satisfying, and I can’t wait to see how these habits evolve as I continue building the life I envision.

The last twenty-three days of the 75 Hard Challenge has been a powerful reminder of how much we can grow when we commit to change. By embracing life’s rhythms and staying open to evolution, I’ve cultivated habits that feel meaningful and sustainable.
